I'm a killer and I'm good at it.

It's not something you can put on a resume or bring up during a date -- but we all have our secrets.

The visions I see at night are part of mine.

The Elders send me visions of my new targets -- chosen by them -- for me to kill. I don't determine if they are good or bad -- just that their fate is to die by my hand.

Questioning the Elders is suicide. I am just a monster for them to direct.

One night my vision features four sinfully yummy men. They seem to find me delicious as well.

When my life gets thrown into chaos, these men are the only ones I can trust.

What happens when I am not the monster I've always believed myself to be?

I went from being the killer to the target.

One thing is for sure, I don't plan on remaining anyone's prey.

Infernally Mine is the first book in a paranormal RH/#whychoose romance series with assassins, shifters, and a succubus. Intended for mature audiences (18+). Contains MM, foul language, and violence.
Excerpt:
When our eyes connect, it’s electrifying. I feel it deep in my bones and I sense the same reaction from Everett. When I see her grab the captain and Coke I sent over to her, I know I have my ‘in’ and rush over to grab her for a dance. Bars aren’t the easiest way to meet someone, well, someone you want to have a conversation with at least. As Everett and I pull her out onto the dance floor, I see her friend begin talking to another man at the bar. Knowing she is occupied, I turn my attention back to the stunner in front of me. The music blasts so loud I can’t hear anything she says. The only upside to this is that it encourages me to get closer to her. As I lean in to whisper in her ear, her scent floors me. Like the sweetest smelling fruit with a small amount of vanilla. I want to roll around in her scent. I want to live in the sound of her voice.

I have never seen such a beautiful creature in all my life. I knew she could feel my erection as she pressed that tight ass into my crotch, I couldn’t help it. As I graze my lips across her ear and introduce myself, it takes all that’s in me to refrain from biting her ear, from dragging my lips and tongue across her neck. My dragon growls his indignation at my lack of action. If it were his choice, I would have claimed her on sight, showing every single male that she is mine. Ours. I feel her purr reverberate through her body as she leans back into my chest to hear what I’m saying. I just want to keep talking to her so she doesn’t stop touching me. When I hear her smoky voice as she gives me her name, I groan and give her my most devilish smirk. I try to give off an arrogant persona, but I feel deep down that this woman has the power to destroy me. Suddenly, she turns around and places her hands on my shoulders, and presses her gorgeous ass into Everett. I immediately feel the loss, but regain my composure upon realizing I get to stare into her eyes now. See her gorgeous tits bounce as she sways her ass against Ev’s pelvis. His dark gaze tells me that he’s feeling the same effects from this woman as I am. It’s like her energy has drugged my entire being and I am drawn to her. Drawn to take her. Make her mine.

Your Mid-Week Update for 08/28/19

I find myself reminiscing today. About the good old days. When I could murder – unhindered by children or husbands or new lives to reshape – and just enjoy it for what it was.

I long for the days when I could go out drinking and let a stranger pick me up and just when they thought they were gonna get lucky, I get lucky and slash their throat. You can’t imagine watching someone desperately try to scream or hold their own expelling blood inside their body. Their legs give out from under them and they try to crawl their way to freedom but even if they make it, they’ll never survive the trip to the hospital. I make sure of it.

Sometimes I get really lucky and their head some very close to decapitation. There is something so satisfying about watching a head fall backwards and bounce off their shoulders as their skin slowly peels away. The human head weighs an average of ten pounds which doesn’t seem like a lot until you imagine ten pounds of bone and brain and blood hanging on to your body by the tiniest piece of flesh. They cling to each other but they can only hold out for so long. Eventually the head will snap and roll away.

I may be projecting a little but it is also a very satisfying visual. I encourage everyone to find a way to witness it. I’m not encouraging everyone to become murderers – let’s face it: some of you are not cut out to be murderers – but maybe someone could hold a viewing of sorts? If I were still killing I’d think about it.

Can you imagine some dystopian society where we all just watch someone die and don’t arrest the killer?

Ooh, projecting again. Point stands.

I’m nostalgic and angry at the world and frustrated with my life at the moment.

Which is the perfect time to reflect on the way things used to be and the way things could be.

This move is a fresh start, I know that. But it’s all tinged with a bit of frustration that this fresh start was forced on me. And who knows how long it’ll last. I’m just waiting for the head to roll.

And I think it’s gonna hurt. If it does fall. It might not. For all I know it could never fall. Maybe I just slit their throat and they’ll bleed to death in the alley with nothing but their desperate attempts at pleading for their life.

One can only hope.

Look, I know I talk about my life and my feelings because I think it’s important to share those things, but sometimes being upset or lost or scared with no solution is really scary and letting it out just makes it worse.

So maybe…I won’t stop sharing my life with you – that’s the whole purpose of this blog – but maybe more solution-based thinking sometimes? Less ranting? I’m not sure. I’m still in the midst of job hunting and house hunting. Casey is enrolled in school and we’ll deal with her proximity to said school later. I’m just eager to get everything settled.

So if you have any ideas, let me know.

As always, dear readers,

Your Mid-Week Update for 08/21/19

New jobs, new house, new names. New life. Not in that order.

Like I said, starting over is really just a pile of paperwork. A few hundred bucks to change our names – though there’s still a waiting period. Meanwhile, we’ve contacted the company who sold us the house and we’re paying for a cleaning crew to get it ready to sell. They don’t think they’ll have to disclose anything to potential buyers which will help. No one wants to knowingly live in a murder house.

I’m sure there’s someone out there who does but will that person be willing to spend what we’re asking? Unlikely.

While I’ve been looking for jobs in my field, James has been contemplating a career change. He can’t exactly just jump back into being a police officer. But that’s all he’s known for the last 15-odd years. I think he should try for a job elsewhere in the criminal justice sector. He clearly loves it beyond using his position of authority to help me get away with murder. He’ll have to make that decision though. I have to worry about quitting my old job, finding a new one, and getting my “ward” enrolled in a new school with a new identity. Telling everyone she’s my ward has been a lot easier than saying she’s my husband’s daughter from a previous fling that we inherited after the woman died.

I let Casey pick out her name and we’re shopping for schools in the same area as the houses we’re looking at. Though we can register her late, I’d like to get her settled and in school as quickly as possible. High school will be difficult enough for her. But it’s hard to find a new place while we’re dealing with the old one, we may just have to find a rental and go from there.

I can’t exactly start her other education until everything has settled down – too suspicious to stroll into town and start killing strangers – so in the meantime, I’ve been giving her an oral history of serial killers and what not to do.

Here’s one I can share with all of you.

Be kind to your neighbours. It’s fairly common to hear: “oh but they were so nice, how could they be a cold-blooded murderer.” THAT is much nicer than “hello 9-1-1? My shitty neighbour has been acting suspiciously, please come arrest them.”

Neighbours, as a species, suck. There is a familial anonymity that has an intoxicating power. Being able to lie to people’s faces every day about the simplest things, and then call the authorities for the very things that were worth lying about. All from the comfort of your living room window across the street.

This might be based on one particular neighbour who definitely hated me.

I’m sorry I didn’t cut the grass, Betty, I had other things to do that weekend. At least my husband doesn’t spend more time at the office than at home.

What a cliché we are.

But that’s all behind me now.

Here’s to kind, un-nosey neighbours in a new life.

As always, dear readers,

Your Mid-Week Update for 08/07/19

He wasn’t there.

We went back to the house. I had this impossible hope that I’d see him there. He’d be sitting at the kitchen table eating spaghetti like nothing had happened. But he wasn’t there. Well he was. But not when I was there. The front door with the police tape had been cut open and upstairs, many of his things were gone.

I think he got out. He got away from this family…and from me. And in a strange way I couldn’t be prouder.

I miss him.

And I am going to miss him for a very long time.

The house was a mess. It didn’t even feel like home. The police tore it apart. The couch was literally ripped open. Drawers were open and everything was pulled out. It smelled awful. The fridge was disgusting. They’d turned the power off so…it was just a mess. I think it’s a miracle that they didn’t find what they were looking for. So they destroyed it instead.

We can’t ever go back there. We grabbed what we could and we drove off.

The three of us, we’re in a new city. Starting over.

I never gave notice at work. I wonder if they’ve figured it out. Maybe I should have called Heather. I should call her. Say goodbye. I’m going to miss her. We had our differences but…god, she might have been my best friend.

I’ll call her today.

I never would have called this happening. I mean it’s not the first time I’ve had to move and start over. But it’s never been such a messy split. It’s mostly just a lot of paperwork. And there is a ton of paperwork this time, too. It’s just a lot to lose at once.

It’s going to take time.

I need time.

Thank you, dear readers.

And as always,
