TOP FIVE SCENES AND WHY
- YOU’RE A VAMPIRE
This one just makes me laugh. Every time.
“I mean, did you think I’d never figure it out?”
“Figure what out?” He wasn’t smirking anymore.
“You’re a vampire.”
His eyes opened wide...and then he burst out laughing.
- PICNIC KISSES
It’s
just kind of cute okay?
He kissed the corner of my mouth and then pulled away, leaving me with just enough brainpower to keep myself from falling over. He stared at me for a minute, his eyes flashing just a tinge of red, before pressing his lips against mine—firm, slow, pulling back and then kissing me again, teasing at my top lip with his tongue and then touching the tip of my own.
- FERRIS WHEEL FLIGHT
This one is just so cinematic, I can picture exactly what it would look like.
The boardwalk loomed closer, the people and carnival games becoming more and more distinct. Tyler waited to dive until the very last second. We sped forward with a huge clap of his wings, and then he pulled them in tight and we were hurtling down, angled toward the Ferris wheel’s turning spokes. The demon was so close behind, his heat lapped at the soles of my feet. I crushed myself against Tyler and held my breath, bracing for a crash.
- ALICIA BEING BADASS
I
love this girl and so of course I had to give her her moment.
I was being forced backward (“Never let them force you backward,” Brad had told us) and my newfound strength was barely blocking the incoming attacks when something thumped and the demon squealed and dropped out of the air.
Below me, Alicia held a massive tree branch and grinned sadistically. “I am woman!” she roared.
- CINDERELLA AT RIOT FEST
Tyler
does something super cute by singing to Chloe. This is a literal dream of mine.
Wait. I knew that voice. My heart pounded so hard that it hurt. The lights finally cleared from my eyes. Over the heads of all the people, I could see the band set up on the stage. Tyler stood in front with a guitar hanging over his shoulder, smirking into the microphone.
“This one’s for you, Cinderella.”
