Her heart hammered in her chest. Flutters of excitement rippled from her head to her toes. “I’m ready.” Noelle parted her lips. It was now or never. She slid her palm up Peter’s arm and hooked her hand behind his neck. Then, before she could think about it too hard and lose her nerve, she pulled him closer and pressed her lips against his. Their mouths crushed together with more intensity than she’d anticipated. She was out of practice, after all, and hadn’t kissed anyone besides Jeff until now. Peter was taller than Jeff, and as his arms wrapped around her, their bodies lined up differently. Noelle barely had time to notice that before her lips, of their own accord, parted and deepened the kiss. Her tongue touched Peter’s with a delicious thrill that made her cling to him harder. Her hands roamed across his shoulder blades, and her head tilted to the side as Peter’s lips left her mouth and wandered down her neck and back up again.
